Back at it... WILL finish in 2016

I still LOVE this quilt. I just can't get it off my mind. I am determined to get it finished in 2016. I did finish one long side last week and have begun to work on the middle section. Honestly, I dreaded this center section the most - I do NOT like doing satin stitches and this section has tons of those satin-stitched berries! I was able to get quite a bit done last night though so maybe I can work through this center section quickly.

I do need advise on marking the embroidery. I am using a water soluble pen and I don't like it. I am having problems making all the blue disappear on my finished piece - which I knew I would since I let it sit there for a year traced. That's a problem I created - but I will get it out. I know Leanne uses a fine point marker - I'm honestly scared I will not trace it well and you will be able to see it through the stitching. What does everyone use to trace?
One long section DONE
My one lone corner section - note the date!
The center section is started - darn those blue berries!

Vignette is finished

It is hard to believe but after about 4 years this quilt is completely finished! Vignette is bound and labelled! Whew!

Vignette is quilted.

On Monday I went to pick up my quilts, Vignette and In my Garden, from my very talented quilter, Robyn of Plain and Fancy. I had chosen thread colours but really couldn't imagine how she was going to quilt them so left it up to her! She had done the most amazing job of both of them. I am so thrilled with them as the quilting has added so much to the quilts. You can click on the photos to make them bigger if you want to see the detail.
Here is Vignette.....almost finished other than for the binding.

Can't believe that I have made it!!!!! Just the binding and label to do. I have stitched a label ready to go on this quilt.
Happy stitching

The top is done!

Finally....after some slow piecing, the vignette quilt top is finished. It has been three years in the making so it feels very good to get it to this stage.

Finally....almost there

In between packing and minding lovely little men I have had a little time to stitch and am so pleased to have Vignette almost done! I put the little squares border on the centre block and then was able to put the first 3 rows together. The bottom row still needs the patchwork outer edge so that will have to wait till I get back from teaching on the cruise....starting tomorrow. Here it is. Can't wait till this one is finished. It is a lovely quilt but it has been a lot of work and I lost my motivation for a while. I haven't allowed myself to start any other BOMs (and I have a few in mind) till this and a few others are done!

Finally ....some progress

After a long break, I finally put together the last piece of stitching for the Vignette quilt. I have left this quilt 3/4 done and haven't had time or the inclination to continue till now. There is still plenty of patchwork that needs doing but at least I am back working on the quilt.
